i2 Intelligence-Led Operations Platform

i2 has launched, in the USA and Great Britain, a prepared IOP concept (i2 Intelligence-Led Operations Platform). This solution is oriented primarily for investigation into the terrorism combat area and is focused not only on the solution of already existing cases, but also on timely identification and prevention of possible threats. IOP will cover the following activity areas:

• fast and flexible access to data (using iXa Search Service and iBridge products),
• a wide range of analysis and visualisation possibilities (using iBase, TextChart, Analyst's Notebook and Analyst's Wor­kstation products),
• operative activities workflow control (using iBase product).

Together with IOP there will be new versions of the main i2 products – Analyst's Notebook 8 and iBase 8. These should be available (in the English version) during the next year.

Hardware dongles

i2 product licences are protected by hardware dongles, which are provided in four basic types according to the customer request:

Locale dongle for USB port (always in blue colour)

Network dongle for USB port (always in red colour)

Locale dongle for parallel port (always in black colour)

Network dongle for parallel port (always in red colour)

Each hardware dongle is provided by the i2 company with a label imprinted with the evidence number. If the user contacts the technical support with any problem, he is always asked about his hardware dongle.

The hardware dongle can be changed onto another type of protection at the users request. This service is paid according to the actual i2 price list.
