Topics

Topic queries, or topics, are powerful and precise queries that are preferred by the advanced users. Topic query allows you to specify exactly all the words, phrases etc. that might be used to describe any object of interest.

Every word or a topic subtree can be assigned a weight, which indicates its selectivity and importance to the whole topic. Words or subtrees can be connected by a wide range of operators. The most important one is the concept operator Accrue.

Whole topic trees can be combined together to create new topics on a higher level, or the existing subtrees can be reused in different contexts. If you have a topic library that can be used this way, it is called a knowledge base.
